Frequently Asked Questions
I regularly consult on criminal cases involving trauma histories, competency issues, and mental state defenses. In civil matters, I evaluate emotional damages and workplace discrimination. My expertise includes cases where racial, gender, or cultural factors may impact psychological assessments.
Ideally, 60-90 days before trial to allow adequate time for evaluation, report preparation, and deposition. Even more lead time is preferable for complex cases or when multiple evaluees are involved. However, I understand that legal timelines can be unpredictable and will try to accommodate urgent requests when possible.
Three key differentiators:
1) My specialized training in trauma and its intersection with cultural factors,
2) My rigorous adherence to evidence-based assessment methods while remaining attuned to individual contextual factors, and
3) My ability to communicate complex psychological concepts clearly and effectively in legal settings.
I dedicate a small portion of my practice to pro bono work, particularly in cases involving underserved populations. Please get in touch with my office to discuss availability and case specifics. I also offer reduced rates for public interest cases when possible.
